Congregation Or Shalom’s library in London, Ontario is filled with many books of Jewish themes and interest. We have an extensive non-fiction adult section including a sizable reference section. Furthermore, there is a children’s collection. The books are all arranged by the Weine classification system, which is based on the Dewey Decimal System.
Thanks to Steve Antony, the listing of the books in Librarything is complete. We have over 1,400 books listed. One can search online for the books in the library. The web address for the database is: https://www.librarything.com/profile/orshalomlib
The library is open during office hours. Please contact the office to access the library or email Judy Silver at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every year the Or Shalom Library receives the interest from the Gerry and Fannie Goose Legacy Foundation. The interest is allocated to the Cherniak/Goose Library Fund at Or Shalom. Monies from the Cherniak/Goose Library Fund has enabled the Or Shalom Library to purchase books.
The committee met on May 9, 2019. This year we decided to purchase the books for the book club. These will be located on a special shelf. One can borrow these books for two weeks. They are available during morning minyans or during office hours.
