We are very proud of the dignified and traditional manner in which our services are conducted. Our shul is an evolving egalitarian congregation. This means that women as well as men are encouraged to grow in religious practice and observance of such mitzvot as Tallit, Tefillin and Tefilah. Women are equal constituents of the minyan, participate equally with respect to the Torah and its aliyot, and serve as Shlichat Tzibur.

We hold a morning minyan Sundays at 9:15 a.m., Mondays at 7:00 a.m., and Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m., followed by a light breakfast. On statutory holidays, morning minyan begins at 9:00 a.m. On Shabbat and most Festival mornings, our services begin at 9:15 a.m. On certain festivals we also have evening services; see the ritual calendar  for details.

Shabbat services include a Junior Congregation program, for children ages 6–12, held in the library from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

We use Siddur Sim Shalom and are following the Triennial Torah reading cycle of the United Synagogue. All our services are completely egalitarian. Our services on High Holy Days are enhanced by a fine choir and by talented lay leaders who assist our Rabbi in making the worship experience a most meaningful one.

We welcome the participation of all our members in whatever capacity they feel comfortable, including leading services, chanting a Haftarah, or simply receiving an aliyah. The Rabbi or any of the officers will be more than happy to assist you in whatever way they can. Or Shalom is a user-friendly shul and we all are all very approachable and eager to meet you.
